Our Kaarigars
Kaarigar is a traditional Hindi/Urdu term that denotes craftsmen specializing in handcrafted items such as clothing, jewelry, and shoes. Often hailing from generational backgrounds, these artisans inherit their trade from family or community members, vital in preserving and promoting the heritage of handwork traditions within South Asian craftsmanship.
We predominantly operate in the artisan hubs of Jodhpur, Lucknow, and Jaipur, where generations of skilled craftsmen have upheld their family heritage. Unfortunately, the advent of mechanization and modern technology poses a threat to the traditional handcrafts that define the subcontinent's rich cultural legacy. Our dedicated kaarigars are esteemed artisans who, like millions of craftsmen nationwide, safeguard and promote the traditional handwork techniques that are integral to India's artisanal heritage.
Our proficient team, based in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, comprises approximately 20 highly skilled kaarigars, including 3 expert head karigars who oversee and excel in their respective crafts.
